Tracking for 15p per day is launched

GPS-based tracking for just 15p per unit per day - that's the tantalising proposition from Logistics Telecom, a tracking specialist and handset supplier linked to Axscend, the trailer tracking company.

Logistics Telecom is offering GPS-enabled handsets with its own LogiCom software pre-loaded free of charge, and this allows users to 'switch on' Web-based tracking on a daily basis, as well as sending and receiving messages via a PC for just 5p per day. Tracking information is displayed online through charts and maps.

Logistics Telecom is also developing a range of other services, which will be added to LogiCom progressively. These include real-time proof of delivery management and Working Time Directive activity recording and analysis.

The handset recommended by the company is the GPRS-enabled Orange M700 PDA, which needs to be run on a GPRS account.

The company also offers a selection of easy sign-up mobile phone-based tracking services, in some cases incorporating free messaging as part of the fee.
