Tracking the removals team
Vehicle tracking 'helps us get drivers to places they can't find, and to see who's nearest and available to assist if a crew needs additional manpower on a job.' That's how Nick Martin, an executive at Perry Removals of Stansted, sums up the benefits of the SupaTrak system it has installed. 'We also use the system to resolve customer enquiries,' he adds. 'Usually a quick look at the online mapping system is all that is needed to be able to determine when a vehicle will arrive. The company has fitted one vehicle with the European mapping option, and says it has been impressed with the extra level of control that has resulted. 'Without a tracking system this would entail a great deal more work, communication with the drivers and reliance on variable mobile coverage.' A much-prized recent event was a delivery to 10 Downing Street, during which the company was able to see the vehicle's location in Downing Street on screen. Perry's found SupaTrak and its supplier, CMS, during a Google search - which seems to underline the benefit to suppliers of having a strong Internet presence.
