Wordsworth tracks with Wire3
Wordsworth Holdings, a major engineering group based in Grantham, Lincolnshire, has fitted vehicle tracking technology from Wire3 Technologies throughout its support fleet, which includes cars, vans and trucks. Wordsworth owns a number of long-established brands in the transport, construction and specialist engineering fields, including Barford (dump trucks), Fruehauf (tipping trailers and rigid bodywork) and Stanhay (precision drills). Other companies in the group make security doors and windows and sterilisation equipment. Fifty vehicles are included in the vehicle tracking roll-out, which uses Wire3's Sat3 real-time Web-based system. Wire3 says that its detailed UK and European mapping allows vehicles to be tracked in real time down to street level. Wordsworth acquired Fruehauf, a long-established name in semi-trailers, in 2005, and now claims it is the UK's leading manufacturer of tipper trailers. Wire3 provides tracking systems to fleets of all types, but has built up a particularly strong presence in the tipper market. Other recent users include Brocks Haulage, PJ Brown and Easy Load Skip Hire.
