Condico launches remote device management service
For businesses struggling with the need to manage a growing portfolio of mobile devices out in the field, there's a new option from a start-up company called Condico. Its Mobile Device Management, or MDM, service aims to help users manage mobile devices used within their organisations. MDM enables them to administer, regulate and support mobile phones, smartphones, BlackBerrys and cellular PDAs from a central location. The company says that the system will works with all devices, operating systems and networks within the user's 'mobile estate', ensuring only one product is needed to manage all equipment. Features include managing user capabilities; identify, analysing and fixing problems centrally; installing software such as virus protection; blocking the downloading of unauthorised software; and locking data temporarily in the event of a mobile being mislaid. It is also possible to wipe data permanently if the mobile device is stolen; and to back up all contact data, texts, emails and appointment for easy retrieval and immediate access from a new device.
