Continental acquires Siemens VDO
Continental, the German-based multinational group known best for its tyres, has acquired Siemens VDO from the Siemens group for around 11 billion euros. Included in the acquisition are the group's tachograph business and the VDO Dayton range of satellite navigation systems and in-vehicle products. When we closed for press the UK business was still called Siemens VDO Trading, and was continuing to work out of its long-established office in Birmingham.
