Tracking with two-way radios
You might not readily identify two-way digital radio handsets as likely accoutrements to a GPS-based vehicle location and tracking system. But if not, you've reckoned without neoNytro, a new system from Neoterra Systems, a mobile software developer, and Zycomm, a distributor of two-way radio handsets and systems. NeoNytro is designed to operate specifically with Motorola's MOTOTRBO, a popular standards-based digital two-way radio platform. It is a combined messaging and GPS-based automatic vehicle location software solution. The system combines the use of bitmap images and the Microsoft MapPoint mapping application in a single package, which is said to make it ideal for international markets. Map images can be calibrated and imported using the bundled Map Maker tool. The package can also incorporate NeoTerra's existing lone worker monitoring system.
