Trailer tracking monitors African cycle ride
You can track more than trailers with a trailer tracking device. Luc Kergoat, the national accounts manager at TIP Trailer Services, has been taking part in Transaid's Cycle Kenya scheme, and carried a tracking device from sister-company GE VeriWise in his rucksack. The device was used to send periodic position fixes via satellite to the Veriwise trailer tracking system, allowing his progress to be monitored by anyone with access to the Internet. Regular updates were also broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 Luc and twenty other participants cycled over 400 km across Kenya's Rift Valley for Transaid during November. Luc himself raised over £3,500 in personal sponsorship, and the group as a whole is said to have been on target to raise more than £70,000.
