Codegate takes over i2
In a move that came just after our last issue went to press, mobile data solutions specialist Codegate has acquired i2 Mobile Solutions, sometimes known as i2MS. The combined turnover of the two companies is expected to top £5 million, which makes the merged company one of largest mobile solution providers in the UK, according to Codegate. The i2 brand will disappear. Codegate says the says the ranges of the two companies are highly complementary, and the acquisition will enable it to extend its mobile solution offering into the warehouse and retail space. i2MS's mobile and data client base includes River Island, Wyevale Garden Centres, Majestic Wine Warehouse, Halfords and Cannon Group. Codegate will now offer enhanced support for Motorola and Psion Teklogix hardware products, favoured by i2, as well as Intermec, Hand Held Products and Zebra. Codegate is privately owned and based in Oxfordshire.
