Mobile enterprise - the challenges and rewards quantified
If you're managing a mobile enterprise, the two greatest challenges you're likely to face involve connectivity issues and the implementation of new processes. That's the finding of a survey conducted by B2M Solutions. It says these two factors account for 42 per cent of all responses.
But what of the benefits of mobile management? Here the study is said to have found that 21 per cent of respondents rated operating efficiencies as the most important gain, followed closely by improved customer service (18 per cent) and efficient staff deployment (18 per cent).
Spelling out those challenges in more detail, new process implementation came top with a 24 per cent of response, followed by connectivity issues (18 per cent) and the cost of software or network equipment (15 per cent). Lack of applications was cited by 10 per cent of respondents and data management by 9 per cent.
Training was cited as a challenge in terms of system training (8 per cent) and user training (7 per cent). Hardware failures were seen as problematic by 7 per cent of respondents.
¥ If you want to make sure your new mobile application is working as intended, B2M has a product to help you - its mprodigy Application Monitoring module, which is said to provide 'the ability to measure how processes are being enacted in the field'.
