Data capture and auto-identification specialist Qcom has been appointed technical support partner by US-based handheld computer manufacturer Janam for the Europe, Middle East and Africa zone.

The deal covers all Janam products and accessories. Janam's devices are pitched particularly towards barcode scanning and wireless data transmission, and they have been purpose-built for mobile workers in mission-critical positions in retail, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing and logistics.

Under the three-year deal with the company, Qcom will deliver a full range of technical support services including warranty and non-warranty repairs, service contracts, telephone support and parts distribution.
