Datalogic Jet approved for Windows Mobile 6
The Datalogic Jet PDA-style handheld terminal has been certified by Microsoft to run the latest Windows Mobile 6 operating system. Datalogic Mobile says it is the first Italian company in the auto-identification sector to gain this certification. Running Windows Mobile 6, the Datalogic JET is said support all types of email access through the use of Outlook Mobile, as well as all types of mobile communication including VOIP. The PDA remains compatible with all Windows Mobile 5.0 applications, Datalogic says, but now also includes all the Microsoft Office Mobile applications, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint Mobile. Datalogic Mobile's partnership with Microsoft on Windows systems dates back to 2002, when Datalogic started integrating its mobile computers with the Windows CE operating system.
The company says it also plans to integrate Windows Mobile 6 in its other two key products, the Kyman mobile computer and the Pegaso PDA.
