Near and far - Motorolas versatile scanners

The Symbol name lives in within Motorola's enterprise mobility business in the designation of its latest cordless laser scanners, the Symbol LS3578-ER and LS3578-FZ. They are said to offer the industry's longest read ranges, along with extended Bluetooth power and advanced scanning capability for extreme environments.

They are described as suitable for a wide range of industrial applications including shipping and receiving, inventory management, asset tracking and forklift applications.

'Fuzzy logic' has been incorporated in the LS3578-FZ version. This is the kind of technology that uses advanced scanning algorithms to make intelligent judgements - in this case, providing accurate and fast reading of worn, damaged, dirty and poorly printed barcodes typically found in warehouses and manufacturing environments.

The party piece of the LS3578-ER version is its ability to read barcodes as close as 4in and as far away as 45ft away - providing what Motorola says is the greatest working range of any available rugged laser scanner on the market.
