![]() If you're looking for hardware to form the basis of on-board vehicle location and tracking systems, you might be interested in a new range from Eurotech. The company has launched a unit that is said to be ideal as the core for geo-centric applications using GPS and GSM/GPRS technologies. Its DuraCOR 1000 series is designed as a modular system, and is available in multiple configurations that are said to be ideal for deployment in transport and automotive applications. Standard configurations include platforms targeting automatic vehicle location and vehicular data server applications. The small, lightweight extruded aluminium enclosures are EN 50155-compliant and designed to resist harsh environmental conditions. They are said to work within an extended temperature range of between minus 25 deg C and 55 deg C without cooling fans, and can resist mechanical shock, vibration and high humidity. The company says a key feature is low power consumption when compared with similar devices currently on the market.
