New-generation tablet from Belgravium
![]() A new-generation ruggedised tablet PC has been launched by UK manufacturer Belgravium. The company is pitching the Tokyo 3200 as a 'Web tablet', and accordingly has built in 802.11 Wi-Fi wireless networking as standard. It can also handle other networking systems such as GPRS via plug-in PCMCIA cards. It has a 10.4in touch screen. Unusually, the 3200 is powered by an AMD Geode LX800 processor, which is matched to 64MB of flash memory (extensible to 8GB), 256MB of RAM (up to 1GB). Storage can be provided by a hard disk drive and a flash module. The operating system can be Windows XP Embedded, XP Tablet Edition or CE. While self-contained as a tablet PC, the model can also be linked with a separate keyboard, and a case is available for carrying both.
