'Back to school' for TruTac as BP adopts its driver compliance system
Winning a supply contract can take real commitment – and BP Oil certainly seems to have demanded it when appointing a supplier to provide a system for tracking driver performance and compliance management. The supplier it has chosen is tachograph analysis specialist TruTac, whose TruControl Compliance Management has been rolled out to 13 UK terminals. The system's driver infringement module allows tracking and auditing of offending drivers and recording praise for good performance. As part of the implementation process, Gerard Kerbegian, TruTac's business development manager, spent a day out in a BP oil tanker. Simple enough, you might think; but before he was allowed to go out in a vehicle transporting dangerous goods, he had to undertake ADR training to become an official crew member. 'My head was buzzing with the amount of crucial information I received,' he commented.
