Hard-wired shortcut keys add to Treo Pro's appeal
![]() A 'one-touch Wi-Fi button' is among features with which Palm is hoping to tempt new users to its mobile phone range with its Treo Pro model. With this, users should be able to log on to a local Wi-Fi network very quickly without having to navigate a series of menus. Other features of this latest model include a flush, high-resolution colour touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard, and a removable battery is said to offer up to five hours of talk time. There are also some rather neat interface hardware features that equip the phone for real-world use, including a 'ringer switch' that can silence the device immediately; a flashing centre button that shows the owner when a voicemail is waiting; and dedicated email and calendar buttons, also offering fast one-push access. GPS is built in as standard. The unit runs Windows Mobile 6.1, supporting features such as Microsoft Direct Push technology, which can connect users to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP2 or 2007 for email access. It also supports Microsoft's System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008.
We understand the Treo Pro is being offered in the UK by Vodafone and O2, and will also be available some European countries in an unlocked version.
