Australian carrier chooses UK mobility solution
 Star Track Express, a leading Australian express freight and logistics providers, has chosen a UK company, BlackBay, to supply a real-time mobility solution, which is intended to enhance customer service and streamline business processes. It will be used by 1,500 drivers handling over 1,000,000 scans per day. The solution is intended to allow Star Track Express to automate its entire delivery and collection process, enabling its drivers to scan all items both at the depot and in the field. Features include electronic consignment manifests and a 'sign on glass' proof of delivery system. Office staff will also be able to track vehicles in real time. The system is based on Blackbay's Delivery Connect mobile workforce software solution, and the primary hardware is Intermec's CN3 rugged mobile computer, complete with GPRS and GPS capability. Star Track chose Blackbay for the contract following a competitive tender process.
