Concrete supplier streamlines deliveries with Microlise solution
CEMEX, a global supplier of cement, ready-mixed concrete and aggregates, has chosen Microlise to supply a transport management and electronic proof of delivery solution supporting its time-critical cement delivery operations. Microlise has used a customised version of its standard products, tailored to CEMEX requirements. The companies say they worked closely together throughout the project, and also worked closely with two other suppliers – Motorola, the provider of the e-POD mobile data terminals used in the system, and IVU, the provider of the CEMEX order processing system. The objective was to remove the potential for human error at each stage of the delivery process, replacing manual systems and paperwork with a comprehensive, state-of-the-art technology solution. Microlise employed an innovative project management technique based on dynamic system design methodology. In pursuit of this requirement, two key members of the CEMEX operational team were seconded to the project and worked alongside Microlise to design, develop and test the solution.
