A range of map-related software for emergency services has been launched by GGP Systems. The company describes GGP Response as a suite of gazetteer management and geographic information software designed to improve front-line services and boost efficiency.

The system is offered as part of an end-to-end solution with full implementation consultancy, training and support. The company says it has been developed n association with one of Britain's leading fire and rescue services to underpin the transformation of the emergency services and other organisations involved in public safety and civil contingency response.

According to managing director Tim Maxwell: 'It is evident that there are real data management issues that need addressing before services can be reorganised. GGP Response will address the problems associated with incompatible datasets, disparate systems and cross-border data sharing.

'It will reduce duplication and ambiguity of data whilst allowing local knowledge to be shared.'
