USB memory device that tracks itself
![]() Are you worried about losing vital data stored on a USB memory module? If so, ExactTrak has a potentially appealing product for you. Not only is the data stored on its Security Guardian USB drive automatically encrypted to AES-256 standard; the device also has built-in GPS and GSM modules, so you can track it in real time if it's lost or stolen. The unit has a fairly massive 45GB of storage capacity, of which 32GB is available for the encrypted data. You can access or even delete the information remotely. You can also designate the unit as being paired to a specific computer; then if it is moved to another, the data will become inaccessible until a new authorisation code is issued. At prices starting from £95 it's not cheap by comparison with normal USB 'dongles', but if you consider the potential gains in security against the background of some of the data loss horror stories recently hitting the mainstream press, that could be a cheap price to pay.
