A rather neat Windows CE-based terminal for both mobile and static applications has been launched by ATMS, which claims it is set to revolutionise the market.

With its 7in colour touch screen, the DataStation certainly comes in at an unusual size – much bigger than typical PDA-style devices, but smaller than tablet PCs, and smaller too than many truckmount terminals. This means it offers good viewability without the large dimensions of a full-screen unit.

ATMS hasn't released full specification details, so we can't tell you about the processor or the memory capacity, but we can tell you it has an SD memory card socket, audio and video inputs/outputs, and a USB port.

The company says it would be useful on a wide range of applications in the warehouse and the yard.
