A personal tracking system that provides location data on mobile workers to within 1.5 metres has been developed by SBS Solutions, the company that also provides the technology for the Pinpointers vehicle tracking system.

Called Lone Guardian, the personal tracking device provides location updates every two minutes, or every minute when panic mode has been activated. The aim is to enable companies to manage their workers effectively and demonstrate to clients that they are fulfilling their required assignments.

The system provides emergency alerts, geo-fencing, real-time and historical reporting, battery level information and detailed street-level mapping. Additional RF radio technology can be incorporated to improve accuracy and reliability inside buildings, says sales director Jon Pope.
