Collaboration delivers savings
Collaboration delivers savings

Chilled food distributor Freshlinc has signed a six-year tracking contract with Isotrak to boost the efficiency of its refrigerated delivery fleet and provide its customers with real-time visibility of the work being done for them.

The deal involves replacing existing tracking units of other makes on 120 trailers already in the fleet, and adding tracking systems to 65 new trailers just going into service.

Freshlinc transports over 1.7 million pallets of chilled and fresh produce per year, delivering into the major retailers. Reduced carbon emissions are high on the agenda for organisations such as these, and so too for Freshlinc, so it was particularly attracted by the analytical capabilities of Isotrak's Advanced Transport Management System and the ability of its 3iS platform, which allows vehicles from several fleets to collaborate as one, with full autonomy, to deliver further efficiency improvements.

Freshlinc recently reduced the top speed of its vehicles to 54mph to save fuel and reduce emissions. Now it expects to make further savings by running fewer and 'friendlier' miles, using the data from ATMS.
