2 November 2010 British Gas chooses Trimble to support smart metering management As the move to introduce "smart metering" builds up in the UK, one of the leading energy providers, British Gas, has decided to implement Trimble’s GeoManager solution across its smart metering vehicle fleet. Its aim is said to be to make full use of vehicle tracking in managing its operations. According to Charlotte Wedd, commercial director for smart metering at British Gas: "With an ambitious smart metering programme, we needed a technology provider which matched our requirements in terms of corporate capability. Trimble delivers on this." Trimble solutions are designed to automate the management of mobile resources and to optimise the service delivery process.
