18 June 2012 ‘Telematics as standard’ as FleetBoard wins award Daimler-Benz says it is pursing a new strategy of introducing telematics as standard equipment for trucks across Europe "in order to strike out in new directions in a consolidating market". Its plan was highlighted as its telematics subsidiary FleetBoard accepted Frost & Sullivan’s 2012 Growth Leadership Award in the category of medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle telematics, for growth and innovation. The FleetBoard system was evaluated against completing products from across Europe, using four key criteria – the range of standard equipment in the truck, the increase in modular product components, the expansion in new regions, and the establishing of growing partnerships. Frost & Sullivan also pointed out that FleetBoard provides a wide product range for all commercial vehicle segments, brands and markets. The company says it has more than 2,500 customers worldwide, and says 100,000 units have been installed in its current this year alone.
