16 August 2012 Speedy fits Masternaut in more than a thousand vehicles Speedy Services, the leading provider of rental equipment and support services, is to fit fleet management technology from Masternaut in 1,220 of its vehicles across the UK. The company says its priorities are to achieve improved customer services, improved collection and delivery times and reduced fleet cost. Speedy featured in the last issue of m.logistics, where its walk-in Speedy ePOD self-service portal for customers collecting equipment was described in our "Keeping Track" section. With the telematics development it is turning its attention to the customers to whom it delivers. It says the Masternaut system will provide real-time visibility of fleet operations, enhancing productivity and helping it to exceed customer expectations.
Fixed asset director Alex Trigg says that Speedy "needed to be absolutely confident" that the investment would result in a measurable improvement in customer service and reliability. "Ultimately, it’s our customers who will determine whether this investment has been a success." Speedy employs 1,200 drivers at more than 320 depot locations across the UK, and uses 3,700 workers, who are called colleagues. © Ivory Square Publications Ltd
